Training week of January 21st
My first week over 100 miles, i am finding this is all about rhythm and routine.
3 days of over 2 hours a day, including one day of 3hrs 24!
On Friday I did just under the distance of an olympic distance tri, even though it was spread out over the whole day...
Great weekend skiing with the family in the Berkshires, meant no training for me on Saturday or Sunday.
Back in the pool today and ready for another week - this will be a recovery week and then start building again next week.

Savannah
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/265670216
Early morning run in Savannah this morning, along the river and then up through the historic part of the city. It's awesome to run outside again in milder weather :)
The last photo is from the plane coming in to land in NY tonight.

Photos of some of running races and triathlons over the last few years:
Reading, England - Half Marathon - March 2008, Completely hung over, not a great race at all, bombed at mile 8 and never recovered:
Mighty Hamptons, September 2012, first olympic distance triathlon:
Great South Bay Half Marathon, October 2012. A tune up run for the New York City Marathon which I had hoped to do in November. Hurricane Sandy took care of that.... Thats me and my son, Kyle, crossing the finish line:

London, Royal Parks Half Marathon, October 2007. Shortly after this photo I emptied the Powerade in my right hand all over my head thinking it was water... A very sticky last 5 miles:
Newport Rhode Island Half Marathon, November 2010, just after we returned to the US from England. Thats my son Luke crossing the finish line with me. First time I broke 2 hours:
Cow Harbor 10km race, 2010, first time I broke 1 hour for a 10k:

Training week of Jan 14th
Feeling good. Unfortunately only got to run outside once this week, but made the most of it. Swimming is starting to feel much better now. This coming week back up to 11 hours, plus hopefully we get some skiing in next week as well.

Training week of Jan 7th
Didn't do the whole plan this week, about 40 minutes less than the coach set out, sometimes life gets in the way...
2 really good take always from the week:
Great long ride on Wednesday, my first 3 hour ride and came off the bike feeling strong. Took some gels and calories on the ride and think this made a big difference.
Did 2 reasonably long swims this week and can feel my form is improving as are my times. I'm still not "good enough" to swim in the fast lane at the ymca, but starting to feel more confident about the swim.
This weeks plan is for 7.5 hours, a bit easier than last weeks :)

Looooong bike
My first really long bike ride indoors yesterday morning. 3 hours on the bike, starting at 4:30am.... Munched my way through cliff bars and gu gels.
Watched Black Hawk Down (great movie to ride to I realized) and a Sufferfest session. Felt really good afterwards, surprisingly as I struggled a bit on my last 90 minute ride.
Legs feeling in good shape today. Maybe I am getting the hang of this now. Finished off with am awesome smoothie (mango, avo, ginger) made by the doc! Probably not my best photo ever of the smoothie, but it was good....

Training week of Dec 31st
Great week of training to start off the new year. Went for a run with Claud's outside on New Year's Day to sweat out the holiday booze still in the system and broke in the basement gym with a few hours on the bike and treadmill. My legs are nice and tired today after a strength and core session with the Peeps triathlon team yesterday. So enjoying a nice day off today with my feet up on the couch this morning. Next 3 weeks training plans look to have an increased training load each week, I thought 10 hours this past week was a lot but I think it will become the base level of time for the next few months.

Winter training camp
With the low temps outside for the next few months, not much venturing outside to train. Although Claud's and I ran 6miles this morning to celebrate the new year. Basement is all set up now with bike, treadmill, bowflex and tv.
Training week of Dec 23rd
8 hours done last week and I can still stand- well kind of....
This week will be 10plus hours. All at low heart rate.
